A little over a year ago, Katie met Jem. Quite a number of years before that Katie started studying at Lancaster University.  Just 2 years later Jem had finished her undergraduate degree in Bath and decided to do a masters, at Lancaster. Shortly after completing it, Jem moved to London. Katie spent this same summer ‘living’ (couch surfing) down the road from Jem’s house in Ealing. Soon after that, Katie moved to London properly too (north London this time). One summer Jem went to Field Day, Katie also went to Field Day. Katie went to the Edinburgh Festival one year, Jem always goes to the Edinburgh Festival. Jem went to most of the London Olympic Games, Katie went to one morning of athletics. The story of two parallel lives is quite the cliche,  but even on our first date we couldn’t escape it: we were both on our first date as a result of our first attempts at negotiating the world of online dating, and the rest (as another cliche goes…) is history.

Cut to now.  Amongst the many things we very quickly found out we had in common during our lengthy chats, was our creativity and love for things on the quirkier side of ‘normal’. So this blog isn’t meant to be the story of us, it’s an outlet for our creative endeavours, our inspirations, and our ambitious (and sometimes weird) projects.

Oh and Katie decided she should start writing the blog while Jem frequently sits and knits. So this is me:
